Donald Trump fires back at critics of his crusade to reveal President Obama's birth certificate.

"Obama is doing a terrible job. The last person they want to be running against is Donald Trump. I can tell you that right now," Trump told INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd.

Trump is furious about a comment made by senior White House Senior Advisor David Plouffe on ABC this week: "There is zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people to do this job. There may be a small part of the country that believes these things, but mainstream Americans think it's a sideshow."

"He said it because he has been looking at the polls and I am at the top of most of the polls and frankly, I've hit a nerve," said Trump.

Boyd asked him about the New York Daily News front page headline, which mocks him as "Sideshow Don" with clown makeup on his picture.

"Well I have never have been called a clown before but I think that it is an honor in a certain way because it is getting to the other side. They are mentioning me and no one else. They probably should have just kept their mouths shut," said Trump.

Now Trump is getting support from a potential rival for the Republican presidential nomination, Sarah Palin: "I appreciate that the Donald wants to spend his resources on something that so interests him and so many Americans, you know, more power to him."

On Fox News, Palin said while she personally believes the President was born in Hawaii, Trump is right to asks questions about it.
