Marine Dad and Daughter, 4, Sit Down for Tea Party Photo Shoot for Month of the Military Child

His daughter was ecstatic.

This Marine dad and his adorable 4-year-old daughter sat down to have a tea party for a very special photo shoot.

April is the Month of the Military Child, Lizz Porter, 26, wanted to mark the occasion with the photos while surprising her husband, 28-year-old Kevin Porter, a U.S. Marine Corps drill instructor.

“He had no idea. He thought we were just going to take pictures and I told him to wear his uniforms,” Porter said.

The California couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Ashley, loved the setup and immediately started posing and smiling as the owner of Kyndal Rose Photography snapped photos, Porter said.

“She was excited," Porter said. "She started jumping around and calling herself a princess. They were having a lot of fun. Ashley got right into it. A while into the photo shoot my husband started warming up.”

Porter said she wanted the photo shoot to show the softer side of military men that most people don’t get to see.

The result was a charming array of photos that show little Ashley is clearly the apple of her dad’s eye.
