The small town of Bedminster, N.J., is set to become Donald Trump's new weekend getaway destination.
Trump's resort of choice since he took office has, of course, been his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. He's been there seven out of 13 weekends since taking office and has been slammed for his frequent visits.
Mar-a-Lago closes for the season on May 14. It’s believed Trump will then spend weekends away at his golf club in Bedminster, which has a population of 9,000.
The Bedminster Club was the setting for the then-president-elect's meetings with potential cabinet members in November. It's is also where first daughter Ivanka Trump married Jared Kushner in 2009.
Bedminster could get a taste of the traffic chaos that has been plaguing Palm Beach when Trump comes to town.
Bedminster Mayor Steven Parker says officials are already putting together plans to keep the president safe.
“We're a small town," he told Inside Edition. "I don't know how many satellite trucks our town can handle."
Mayor Parker says the town does have an airport but it's a small one.
“I don't think we’ll be seeing Air Force One in Bedminster,” he said.
The town has also had its share of celebrities over time. Billionaire Steve Forbes has a home there, and Jackie Onassis used to live nearby.
