Panicked 911 Call Released in 'Bachelor' Contestant's Fatal Crash: 'I Rear-Ended A Guy'

Chris Soules later ran off and would not come out of his house when police arrived to take him in.

Bachelor star Chris Soules frantically called 911 moments before cops say he fled the scene of a fatal car crash.

“I rear-ended a guy in a tractor,” Soules said in a state of panic while speaking to a 911 operator.

He told the dispatcher the man on the tractor was injured and “not conscious.” He couldn’t tell if the man was breathing and didn’t know how to do CPR.

The victim, 66-year-old grandfather Kenny Moshler, was in a life-or-death struggle.

In the call, somebody at the scene, can be heard doing chest compressions.

Soules said there was blood coming out of the victim’s mouth but he had a pulse. He checked again to see if he was breathing and Moshler was.

Unfortunately, Moshler didn't make it and cops say Soules allegedly fled the scene.

Cops caught up with Soules hiding out at his mother’s house, where police say he was "uncooperative" and refused to come out.

"It took hours to get a search warrant to retrieve Mr. Soules from inside of that house,” prosecutors said in court Tuesday.

When he was finally detained, Soules was driven to a local hospital for a blood test to determine if he'd been drinking. According to court papers, cops found alcohol containers, reportedly cans of beer, in his truck. He was not charged with drunk driving.

Soules has had multiple run-ins with the law dating back to his youth, including citations for speeding, failure to brake, running stop signs and underage drinking.

In 2006, he pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Now, many are wondering what kind of background check was conducted before he was cast on The Bachelorette in 2014 and then as The Bachelor in 2015.

"ABC is not going to put a dating show on the air, in my opinion, without having asked the contests what their history is because a young woman is not going to want to go on The Bachelor and try to date and make a life with, and potentially marry someone with a litany of criminal charges," Aaron Keller, a host on the LawNewz Network, told Inside Edition.

"The only time I met him he was drunk," Bachelorette contestant Chad Johnson told Inside Edition. "He liked to drink — it's a known thing in The Bachelor family.”

Soules proudly took the women vying for his hand in marriage to his family farm in Iowa, just 10 miles from the scene of Monday night's fatality.

On The Bachelor, Soules proposed to Whitney Bischoff, a nurse from Chicago. The engagement lasted just six months.

She called the charges against her ex a "very sad situation," according to People magazine. "I’m keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers, especially the victim and his family."

Soules' mom posted his $10,000 bail. The former Bachelor star had to turn over his passport and is required to wear an ankle bracelet. His rep says he was devastated to hear the man had passed away.
