While rocking full hockey gear, he spoke to CBS News as he made his way onto the ice to play in a game.

When reporter Eliza Palmer asked about how Comey’s firing will impact U.S.-Russia relations, Putin replied, “There will be no effect.”

Speaking through a translator, press aide Dmitry Peskov, he also told the reporter that her question “looks funny” to him and asked “not to be angry” with him.

“We have nothing to do with that,” Putin said. “President Trump is acting in accordance with his own competence and in accordance with his law and constitution.”

Putin then appeared irate, asking Palmer, “What about us? Why we?"

He added: "I am going to play hockey with the hockey fans, and I invite you to do the same."

Palmer thanks Putin for his time, and said she would just be a spectator.

Putin scored seven goals and his team won 17-6 in the friendly hockey game, which featured several Russian hockey greats, according to The New York Times.

More details about the Trump-Comey uproar are emerging today, including a report that the former FBI director once called the president "crazy" and "outside the realm of normal,” according to The Times.

His comments supposedly came in March after Trump accused President Obama of wiretapping his campaign.
