“He doesn't want to be the King of Pop,” one of his bodyguards says in the Searching for Neverland trailer. “He just wants to be Mike, a normal American dad.”

Jackson is portrayed in the film by impersonator Navi and features many scenes of the “Bad” singer with his children.

The movie premieres May 29 and is based on the 2014 book of the same name by his personal bodyguards Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard.

Jackson passed away in his Los Angeles home in 2009 at age 50 of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. The drugs had been administered by his doctor, Conrad Murray.

A coroner later ruled his death a homicide.
