An estimated 65,000 fortune hunters have participated in the hunt for the chest of gold planted by Forrest Fenn and it has twice turned deadly.

Those fatalities are not scaring off Sacha Johnston.

“I don’t believe that there is a lot of danger associated with it," she told Inside Edition. "I do believe that people’s greed takes over their common sense. It leads them into situations that put them in harm’s way,”

The 36-year-old single mom of two and realtor traveled about an hour outside Santa Fe to search.

The conditions she has faced are not for the faint-hearted as temperatures surpassed 100 degrees. There is no water and no people around, just miles of dry desert.

She packs light with plenty of water, snacks and maps. She never goes for more than four hours at a time and nearby relatives look after her children when she goes on the dangerous treks.

“I have randomly searched all of these hills, everything you can see on this side and everything that you can see behind us after figuring out at few more clues I arrived at this location,” she said.

She says she has found a tantalizing bit of information in a poem that appears in Fenn's book, The Thrill of the Chase, which led her to the area outside Santa Fe.

“As I have gone alone in there and with my treasures bold, I can keep my secret where, and hint of riches new and old,” the passage read.

“Interestingly enough, this spot doesn’t have a name, which factors in to Fenn's poem because he says, 'As I have gone alone in there.' I believe that he calls the place 'in there' since it has no name,” she said.

She says that despite the tens of thousands who have searched before her, she believes she will be the one who finds the hidden treasure.
