The South Pasadena boy's body was found near Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara just hours after his father, Aramazd Andressian Sr., was extradited from Las Vegas to Los Angeles for his murder.

Until now, no sign of the boy's body had been found despite ceaseless, concerted efforts by area authorities.

"Based on additional leads developed in the Andressian case, Homicide detectives returned to the Lake Cachuma area of Santa Barbara County on Friday, June 30, 2017 in an effort to locate additional evidence," the LA County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook as they announced the grim discovery.

The 5-year-old was last seen the morning of April 21 while he was leaving Disneyland with his father, grandmother and aunt.

He was reported missing on April 22 by his mother after her ex-husband failed to return the boy at a scheduled custody transfer, authorities said.

Andressian Sr. was found later that morning, unconscious in a South Pasadena park. The boy was nowhere to be found. The father told officers someone must have taken the child while he was passed out.

The father told investigators he had taken his son to the park while they waited for a nearby golf course to open. Andressian Sr. said he may have been attacked. He did not remember losing consciousness, he told authorities.

He was arrested that same day, but later released due to insufficient evidence, detectives said.

But on June 26, the 35-year-old Los Angeles County man was picked up in Las Vegas, where he was partying, authorities said at a press conference.

“The time was right to make the arrest. Aramazd Andressian was being a flight risk,” Sheriff Jim McDonnell said.

Andressian was preparing to leave the country and had altered his appearance by shaving his beard and lightening his hair, authorities said.

He has been charged with murder.
