Owl Tangled in Soccer Net Freed by Road Construction Crew

"He didn't bite, so I'll take that as a 'thank you,'" one of the rescuers said.

An owl stuck in a soccer net flew free once again, thanks to the patience of a nearby road construction crew that clearly gave a hoot about the winged creature.

Will Brown, of Creve Coeur, Mo., posted videos on Facebook of his team rescuing the bird of prey.

The wide-eyed owl can be seen in the footage, tangled in netting in the middle of a field.

Despite not appearing to have any sort of training with wildlife, the men gently cut away at the netting, and eventually take the owl into their hands to cut away at more strands.

After several minutes of intricate twisting, the bird can be seen finally flying away into the woods.

“He didn’t bite, so I’ll take that as a 'thank you,'" Brown joked on Facebook.
