Mom Who Allegedly Tied Up 4-Year-Old Daughter and Taped Her Mouth Shut Charged With Homicide

Someone later called police.

A South Carolina woman has been charged after her 4-year-old daughter was tied up overnight, causing her death. 

Cynthia Estrada-Lopez, 24, has been charged with homicide and child abuse after she allegedly tied the young girl to a bed and placed tape over her mouth before leaving her by herself for the night on July 31, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.

An unknown person later called police after finding the 4-year-old unresponsive in the home, police said.

The girl, whose name was not revealed by authorities, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Estrada Lopez was arrested Friday. She has since been denied bond.

The investigation into the young girl’s death is ongoing.
