More is being learned about the newlywed husband who woke up to find his wife stabbed to death after he claimed he took too much cold medicine.

His digital footprint is showing he had a secret life.

Matthew Phelps appeared to have dark obsessions in various social media posts on Instagram and Tumblr.

On an Instagram page, he called himself "Marty Radical" and photos show him dressed in black.

One caption quotes lyrics by the heavy metal band Korn that read: “I can't get out of bed. There is evil in my head. Just let me be.”

On his Tumblr page, he gets candid about his strange sleeping patterns.

“Ever since I was little, I’ve had some strong activity with my dreams. Nightmares, night terrors, sleepwalking, hallucinations, and controlled dreams have all filled my life so far,” he wrote.

It echoes what he told a 911 dispatcher on the night his wife, Lauren, was found stabbed to death.

“I had a dream, and then I turn on the lights and she's dead on the floor,” he told 911. “I have blood all over me and there's a bloody knife on the bed and I think I did it.”

When Lauren’s obituary appeared in the local newspaper, her marriage to Matthew had been essentially erased. There was no mention of a husband whatsoever and Lauren was only referred to by her maiden name.

Her devastated family and friends filled the courtroom in Raleigh, N.C., earlier this week, and Matthew barely looked at them.

"He has been through a terrible trauma, so he is suffering tremendously,” his attorney Joe Cheshire told Inside Edition.
