Kenya Wildlife Service Honorary Game Warden Shazaad Kasmani, 38, was in a nature preserve with a team when they noticed the elephant had sustained a wound on its back.

Kasmani said the elephant must have been wounded by humans wielding spears.

“Incidences such as these this are tragically becoming more and more common,” he said in an interview with Caters News.

But rescuers got right to work, sedating the elephant for urgent treatment.

Kasmani captured his team's efforts on video.
