Casey Anthony Verdict as Shocking as O.J. Simpson Verdict

The shocked response to the Casey Anthony not guilty verdict brings to mind the universal shock felt in 1995 when O.J. Simpson was found not guilty in his double murder trial. INSIDE EDITION speaks to one of the members of the jury that acquitted Simps

The Casey Anthony trial is being dubbed the trial of the century, but how does it compare to that other trial of the century?

Nearly 16 years ago, O.J. Simpson was found not guilty of murdering wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

The surrounding media circus lasted for the whole nine-month trial.

Like the Casey Anthony jury, the Simpson jury was sequestered, and both juries, to worldwide shock, reached their not guilty verdicts within hours.

INSIDE EDITION tracked down one of the Simpson jurors, Yolanda Crawford.

"I was just as surprised by the verdict also," she admitted.

Crawford said criticism of the Casey Anthony jurors isn't fair.

"I don't think they understand that the jury is only hearing what's being presented in court, they don't have the outside public opinions that are being broadcast on the news every night," she said.

Kim Goldman, sister of murder victim Ron Goldman, says she's saddened but not surprised at the Casey Anthony verdict.

"I am sad that Caylee doesn't have justice per se the way people want [her] to," she told INSIDE EDITION.

Like the Simpson verdict, everyone has an opinion about the Casey Anthony trial.

Kim Kardashian, whose late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, defended Simpson, tweeted: "WHAT!!!!???!!!! CASEY ANTHONY FOUND NOT GUILTY!!!! I am speechless!!!"

After Kardashian was blasted for that comment, she tweeted: "Reading the comments here &its nuts people think just bc I was close to the OJ trial I can't have my own opinion on the Casey Anthony case?"

O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark appeared on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight to share her perspective.

"It's extremely stunning. I have to say that I was actually more surprised by this verdict than I was by the Simpson verdict," Clark said.
