Jerry Sandusky's First Interview Behind Bars
Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant coach, is speaking out from behind bars for the first time since being sentenced to 60 years, and he actually laughs at some of the evidence against him.
He speaks out about claims that a colleague discovered him molesting a 10-year-old boy in the showers.
"I don't understand how anybody would have walked into that locker room from where he was and heard sounds associated with sex. You know, like he said, there could have been. That would have been the last thing I would have thought about," said Sandusky.
Sandusky gave his first interview to controversial documentary filmmaker John Ziegler.
INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd asked Ziegler, "You're not here saying that Jerry Sandusky is innocent are you?"
"No. That's never been my focus at all. Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile. I think there were serious due process concerns with his trial," said Ziegler.
Zeigler is making a documentary trying to clear the name of legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who was accused of helping cover up Sandusky's crimes.
But even Paterno's own family is trying to distance themselves from Ziegler's efforts. They issued a statement today saying, "Any attempt to use this recording as a defense of Joe Paterno is misguided and inappropriate."
Boyd said, "It sounds like your trying to make excuses for Joe Paterno, knowing what we know now."
"All I'm trying to do is figure out, did this guy deserve to have 61 years of a stellar career destroyed because of the actions of a former assistant coach," said Ziegler.
