The father of fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden urged his son to come home and to not release any more information. INSIDE EDITION reports.
The father of fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden is making a heartfelt plea to his son, saying "I want you to come home."
Lonnie Snowden, was interviewed by Fox News and said, "I just ask that you measure what you're going to do and not release any more information." His son is the former government contractor who exposed Washington’s secret internet spying program.
Lonnie Snowden held a photo of his son from younger days as he spoke.
Lonnie continued, addressing Edward, "We want you to be happy but I know you're your own man and you're going to do what you feel that you have to do."
Edward Snowden is believed to be hiding out in Hong Kong. He could face treason charges in the USA
Fox news asked Lonnie, "Do you think that the information he has, do you think that puts him in peril?"
Lonnie responded, "Absolutely, I think it puts him in peril from a foreign government, from opportunists and in my opinion,clearly from our government as well. Ed, I love you. I love you and I wish you the best. Your family loves you and we want you to come home."
