So what is life really like for a boy born into royalty?
INSIDE EDITION asked Princess Diana’s confidant and official biographer, Andrew Morton.
Morton said, "It will be a far more normal upbringing than any child has experienced before."
When Prince William was born, his mother, Diana, was obliged by royal protocol to hire nannies. But Morton says Kate and William will not be taking that route.
"William and Catherine just have a housekeeper. There seems to be no indication that they are going to hire a nanny," he said.
Diana was famously protective of her two boys. The momma grizzly confronted photographers when she felt they were getting too intrusive during a skiing vacation in 1994. Sadly, Diana is not alive to see her first grandson.
The new baby will be third-in-line to the throne. Proud father Prince William is second-in-line, and new grandfather Prince Charles is first. Prince Harry is now bumped down to fourth-in-line.
Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, will have a major role in raising the new baby, and how about Aunt Pippa?
INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret asked, "What is your assessment of Pippa as future royal aunt?"
Morton said, "Well Pippa is a girl that likes to have a good time. She likes to go to the social parties, she is a socialite. She will be the one to introduce the royal offspring to the delights of London society."
