Michelle Obama Extends Hawaii Stay At Oprah's Estate

Oprah is playing host to first lady Michelle Obama as she extends her vacation in Hawaii, staying at Oprah's Maui estate. INSIDE EDITION has more.

We're now learning that Michelle Obama is staying in Hawaii to enjoy a girls' getaway with none other than Oprah Winfrey.

Michelle turns the big 5-0 on January 17th. Oprah turns the big 6-0 two weeks later. So, they're having an early joint birthday celebration at Oprah's estate in Maui.

Also said to be staying there: CBS This Morning's Gayle King, top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, and the wife of Attorney General Eric Holder.

The ocean view from Oprah's wraparound porch is spectacular. The home is filled with custom furniture and antiques. Oprah grows her own veggies on the grounds.

Some critics point out that Michelle's extended vacation comes at great expense to taxpayers.

Greta Van Susteren said on Fox News, "At some later date, an empty Air Force One plane will fly from Washington D.C. to Hawaii to pick up the first lady and fly her back to D.C. Total cost: an estimated $800,000."

One thing's for sure, those rumors of a Michelle-Oprah feud can now be put to rest.
