Al Gore and Laurie David Deny Tabloid Report of an Affair

The ex-wife of Larry David is denouncing as false a tabloid report that claimed she had an affair with Al Gore and that caused his divorce from his wife Tipper.

Al Gore's friends are slamming a report that a "torrid affair" with a sexy Hollywood producer is behind his shocking split from Tipper Gore. The former Vice President's pals are going so far as to call the story "insane" and "complete (expletive deleted)."

The report first appeared in Star magazine. The alleged other woman is Laurie David—the ex-wife of Curb Your Enthusiasm star and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David. Laurie produced Gore's Oscar®-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

She's so angry about the story, she's gone public, calling it "completely untrue" and a "total fabrication."

"I adore both Al and Tipper. I look at them both as family. And I have happily been in a serious relationship since my divorce," said Laurie.

INSIDE EDITION spoke to Laurie and Larry David on the red carpet at the Oscars® in 2007.  Laurie David spoke about Gore's documentary saying, "The second I saw him do a ten minute version of the slideshow, I knew that people would connect to it. It was so clear."

The Gores have denied that any third party was to blame for their separation after 40 years. So the front page of the New York Post may sum this up best with the headline "Inconvenient Un-Truth."
