Monica Olsen's Husband Accused of Hiring a Hitman to Murder Her

Model-turned-businesswoman Monica Olsen's millionaire husband is in jail, accused of hiring a hitman to kill her. INSIDE EDITION reports.

Monica Olsen is a drop-dead gorgeous model and there is even a voluptuous crime-fighting comic book character modeled on her.

She lived in a palatial ranch home near Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters. But now, Olsen's magic life has taken a sudden turn. Her husband has been accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill her, allegedly saying, "She's got to go."

Fifty-two-year-old Dino Guglielmelli is the millionaire founder of a California vitamin supplement company, Creation's Garden.

He and 32-year-old Olsen were going through a bitter divorce and custody battle. Prosecutors say Guglielmelli was secretly taped trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife for $80,000. On the tape he can be heard saying, "There's no way for them to track it back to me" and "You're going to get paid. Don't worry about that. I’ve got you covered."

In an exclusive interview with INSIDE EDITION, Guglielmelli's defense attorney claimed the millionaire businessman was set up: "This was concocted in the mind of a friend, false friend of his," explained the attorney. “My client had no intent to hurt his wife. They were going through an acrimonious divorce as most of them are, but it never got to that point.”

HLN host Nancy Grace is following the case. She told INSIDE EDITION, "The defense is going to argue that these tapes prove nothing because on these taped conversation you don't hear them laying out the specifics of how Monica Olsen is going to be murdered. I think the circumstantial evidence of the tape is going to win the day. I think it is clear enough that they are talking about the murder of his wife."

Olsen was a successful model in New York when she moved to L.A. to pursue a movie career. She played an extra in a sauna scene in Rob Schneider’s The Hot Chick

Then she met Guglielmelli. She started her own successful skin care company. Their home was filled with antiques; there was a spacious gourmet kitchen, a pool and a hot tub. But now, he is in prison awaiting trial and Olsen's attorney says she's living in fear.
