Little Bodybuilder, Big Spirit

INSIDE EDITION has the inspiring story of a 22-year-old bodybuilder that stands at just four feet, but has enough inspiration to shine in any room.

Amanda Loy was on stage for the biggest competition of her life. The 22-year-old bodybuilder was the tiniest competitor by far, standing tall at just four feet.

She told INSIDE EDITION, “Being smaller than everyone else is not going to hold me back.”

She was born with a form of dwarfism that makes her body more proportionate than other types of dwarfism. In the gym, she sometimes has to improvise or get a boost onto higher equipment.

She hears cheers now, but when she was younger, people weren't always so nice to her.

She said, “I would walk by and hear people whisper to their friends. I would be like, ‘I can totally hear you talking about me. I'm short I am not dumb.’”

These days Loy is more an inspiration than a curiosity.

At a tournament in New York City, she thinks she's got an edge, saying, “On stage, I personally would say it’s an advantage because I stand out. I'm an eye-catcher. You look down the line and see the same five foot ladies and they all look the same. Then, you see me and I stand a foot below everyone, I kind of stand out.”

When her named was announced during the competition, she placed fourth. A  great accomplishment. Then, it was time for her to celebrate.
