Sinkhole Swallows Up Cars On Baltimore Street

Airdate: 05/02/2014

It was the video that had the entire nation gasping as a street in Baltimore collapsed in the wake of a blinding downpour.

But what you haven't seen is the video actually began with cars already teetering on the brink. Bystanders seemed relatively calm. One even made light of the situation saying, “My car's about to fall right over."

A police officer checked out the scene. Suddenly, the real nightmare began as the cars fell over the edge. That staggering collapse wasn't the end.

Two cars were left teetering as firemen checked the scene later on and one went over the edge with the others.

INSIDE EDITION spoke with the neighbor Nicholas Reyes who shot that amazing video with his cell phone.

He said, "It was unbelievable. I have never seen anything like that in my life."

All the cars that plunged down landed on the train tracks below.

The scene on the street Friday was busy with freight trains once again running along the tracks. An amazingly speedy cleanup considering the disaster.
