Doctor Once Accused of Stalking Ex-Boyfriend Wins Senate Seat

The doctor accused of stalking her ex-boyfriend has won the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate.

Dr. Monica Wehby, a pediatric neurosurgeon in Oregon, attacked mud-slinging politics in her victory speech Tuesday night, saying, “This senate race will not be decided by the ugly kind of politics that people in Oregon and across the country are so sick of!"

Her ex-boyfriend, lumber tycoon Andrew Miller says Dr. Wehby stalked him after they broke up last year. He called 911 when he found she had entered his home through an unlocked door. She was not arrested or charged.

But voters ignored the storm of controversy. She won the primary election with over 50% of the vote.
