President George H.W. Bush Makes A Giant Leap For 90th Birthday

To celebrate his 90th birthday, former President George H.W. Bush went skydiving. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

What a way to celebrate the big 9-0! Former President George H.W. Bush made a tandem jump out of a chopper.

He came in for quite a bumpy landing. He made an uncomfortable expression when he hit solid ground. An aide even rushed in with a wheelchair.

INSIDE EDITION asked skydiving expert Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld to analyze the video. He said "It was not your normal landing with a tandem jump. Usually with a tandem jump, you usually stand up when you land or if you still have some horizontal speed, you pick your legs up in front of you and sit down and you slide in like you slide into home plate. That was a little rougher of a landing given the circumstances."

You may recall that Bush jumped out of plane in 1944 in World War II when his plane was shot down over the Pacific. Since then he's jumped seven more times, all for fun, like on his 85th birthday, five years ago.

As the former president proves, seeing elderly people doing stunts like that are not all that unusual these days. INSIDE EDITION met a bodybuilder who is 73.  Then, there is Yvonne Dowlen who is still gracefully figure skating at age 87. Another video showed one senior taking her first roller coaster ride and enjoyed every second.

As for the former president, rough landing or not, Happy birthday!
