'Dukes of Hazzard' Star John Schneider: Show 'Cast in Terrible Light That It Does Not Deserve'
In the wake of the Confederate flag controversy, 'Dukes of Hazzard' star John Schneider is upset that the show has been cast in a negative light.
Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider is upset about TV Land pulling the show off the air due to the uproar over the Confederate flag.
He took to YouTube to vent, saying: ‘Dukes of Hazzard is one of the most beloved shows ever. Ever, ever, ever! Do I think that taking Dukes off TV Land is silly? Yeah, of course I do. Silly maybe is not the right word. Do I think it's an error? Yes.”
On the show, Schneider and his co-stars were often seen with the General Lee, a Dodge Charger which had the Confederate flag emblazoned on the iconic car.
Schnedier said: “Now it's being cast in a terrible light that it does not deserve. I’m not talking about the flag. I’m talking about the Dukes of Hazzard. I love the Dukes of Hazzard. I know a lot of other people do as well.”
