Christine O'Donnell's new TV ad has the nation buzzing with her proclamation that she's not a witch. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Christine O'Donnell gets right to the point in her very first TV campaign commercial. She starts it off saying, "I'm not a witch. I'm nothing you've heard. I'm you."
The U.S. Senate candidate from Delaware is dealing head-on with the negative attention she's received after an embarrassing video surfaced from 1999, when she was 30-years-old where she said, "I dabbled in witchcraft. I never joined a coven."
She became the butt of jokes on national television. But in the just released ad, she's fighting back.
Politico.com Sr. Editor Beth Frerking told INSIDE EDITION, "I think it is definitely the first time I've heard a politician renounce being a witch."
After vanishing from the political arena for the last week to re-group, the Republican candidiate resurfaced with a makeover. Gone are the glasses and the fluffy hair-do. In its place, a hipper, more modern cut. Her makeup has been toned down and softened, and that bright red blazer, ala Sarah Palin, is replaced by a simple navy blue jacket and a strand of pearls.
INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander asked Frerking, "Is this a smart ad, or is this going to backfire on her?"
Frerking said, "I think we'll have to wait and see what the voters think."
In the ad, O'Donnell says, "None of us are perfect. But none of us can be happy with what we see around us."
O'Donnell's ad comes as the most recent polls finds her nearly ten percentage points behind her Democratic opponent.
