Cameras have captured even more bizarre behavior from actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi, who are in Canada seeking asylum from what they call the "Hollywood Star Whackers." INSIDE EDITION has the story.
The Quaids just got out of jail, and just when you thought things couldn't get any stranger...Randy Quaid read a poem out loud to reporters that he wrote to his dog Doji.
Randy and his wife Evi picked up Doji from the pound. It was their first stop after being released from jail.
Evi gave a thumbs up and actually skipped for joy as the couple walked down the street in Vancouver, Canada.
The Quaids claim they've been targeted for murder by a mysterious hit squad they call "Hollywood Star Whackers" and they've asked for asylum in Canada.
Immigration officials have now ruled that Evi is a Canadian citizen because her father was Canadian.
Evi told reporters, "I love Canada, I truly do. Everybody has the same sense of humor as me. It's big, it's beautiful...it's like my husband!"
The weirdness continued when Randy was asked why he wants to leave the United States.
"I just want a place where I can work..." started Randy.
"And not be persecuted," Evi interjected.
Randy continued, "...And enjoy my life and not feel that someone's always following me around and trying to steal from me."
The couple said they were "terrified" about the shadowy group they claim is behind the deaths of actors Heath Ledger, David Carradine and Chris Penn.
