Chilean Miner Edison Pena Charms New York City

Edison Pena, one of 33 Chilean miners who spent 69 days trapped underground, is now on a whirlwind trip to New York City. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Edison Pena made a remarkable visit to the Late Show with David Letterman.

Pena, one of the 33 Chilean miners whose dramatic rescue captivated the world, belted out an impromptu Elvis classic, and he even did the dance moves to go with the song!

The 34-year-old miner, a huge Elvis fan, doesn't speak a word of English, but when it comes to singing classic Elvis songs he's perfectly fluent.

Pena is taking Manhattan by storm. He even burst into song at a press conference promoting the New York City Marathon.

He is going to run the grueling 26-mile marathon on November 7th.

While trapped underground for 69 days, the avid runner kept in shape by running through the pitch-black tunnels, sometimes with a wooden pallet tied around his waist to make it extra difficult.

On the Late Show, despite the language barrier, Pena charmed the audience and Letterman with humor and slapstick.

Since he has never run a marathon, Pena says he hopes his fans won't be too disappointed if he doesn't make it the whole way.
