Brussels Bomber Left Suicide Note: 'I Don't Know What to Do'
Investigators found a suicide note on a computer dumped in a trash can in Brussels.
Investigators piecing together events leading up to Tuesday's terror attack in Brussels say they found a suicide note written by one of the bombers.
Ibrahim El Bakraoui, one of two suicide bombers at the Brussels airport, is believed to have written the letter, which was found on a computer in a public trash can near an alleged bomb-making house in the neighborhood of Schaerbeek.
In the missive, El Bakraoui expresses his fears of a life behind bars and appears to refer to Paris attack suspect Salah Abdeslam.
El Bakraoui said he "did not want to end up in jail...like him." Abdeslam had been arrested in a raid just days before the Brussels attack.
"Being in a hurry, I don't know what to do, being searched for everywhere, not being safe. If it drags on it could end up with me in a prison cell next to him," the note read.
Eleven people were killed by El Bakraoui and the second airport suicide bomber, Najim Laachraoui, who was the bombmaker for the Paris terrorist attacks and was Europe's most-wanted man.
A third man seen in airport security footage is still on the run and has not been identified.
The device believed to have been carried by Laachraoui did not detonate.
Another suicide bomber who blew himself up on a Brussels metro platform has been identified as El Bakraoui's brother, Khalid.
Twenty people were killed in the subway attack. All told, over 200 people were injured in the attacks.
