Busch spoke for the first time about the loss of Adrienne Martin, a former Hooters waitress, who passed away at his mansion in December.
Busch, a member of the famous Anheuser-Busch Budweiser family, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in a phone interview,
"I went to serve her breakfast in bed and I couldn't wake her up. I checked for a pulse...She felt kind of warm."
Martin was dead when the ambulance arrived.
Busch said, "I loved this girl with every ounce of my heart."
"He sounded heartbroken about the death of his girlfriend. He sounded sincere and he sounded sad," says St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Deb Peterson.
An initial autopsy into the death was inconclusive. Toxicology reports will take about a month to complete.
