Man Covered in 'Aryan Pride,' Anti-Law Enforcement Tattoos Accused of Shooting Cop

Jeffrey Giddings, 45, fled on a bicycle when an officer tried to pull him over for a municipal code violation in Oregon.

An Oregon man covered in Aryan Pride and anti-law enforcement tattoos allegedly shot a police officer and took a woman hostage after a cop attempted to stop the man for a traffic violation.

Jeffrey Giddings, 45, fled on a bicycle when an officer tried to pull him over for a municipal code violation in Gladstone about 6:30 p.m. Monday, officials said.

When another cop found him in the parking lot of a nearby Subway restaurant, Giddings fired off one shot, hitting the officer in his ballistic vest.

Giddings then took cover in the eatery and took one woman hostage, authorities said. He allegedly refused to negotiate with a SWAT team and eventually was shot by police.

He was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and when he is released, he will be taken into custody and lodged at Clackamas County Jail on numerous charges, police said.

The officer Giddings allegedly shot, identified by officials as 20-year veteran Sergeant Lee Jundt, is expected to recover.

“We want to thank everyone for the kind words and support during this difficult time,” the police department wrote on its Facebook page. “All of the cards, flowers and food have lifted our spirits and reminded us of the support we have in this great community.”

The woman who was taken hostage was not hurt.

Giddings had a warrant out for heroin possession when he was stopped by police.

His mugshot revealed a face almost entirely covered by ink, including the phrases “Aryan Pride” and “F*** the Feds.”

A Celtic Cross classified by the Anti-Defamation League as “one of the most important and commonly used white supremacist symbols” is displayed on one side of his face, while the numbers “16” and “23” bookend his nose.

The units represent the “peckerwood,” a term associated with racist prison gangs and cliques, such as the Aryan Brotherhood. The term also adorns his stomach above his belly button, his Facebook profile picture shows.
