Who is the Man Who Climbed Trump's Fifth Avenue Tower?
The Virginia native wanted to meet with Trump.
Police are probing the man who climbed Trump Tower using suction cups on Wednesday, bringing one of New York's busiest streets to a standstill.
He's been identified as Michael Joseph Ryan, a 19-year-old from Virginia and has been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.
In a bizarre video posted to YouTube before his climb, he revealed he's a Trump supporter who climbed the building to get the real estate tycoon’s attention.
Trump, who works and lives in the Fifth Avenue skyscraper, tweeted a thank you to the NYPD for its response.
The man arrived in New York Wednesday from Virginia and had been staying in a local hotel, police said. He didn’t intend to hurt anyone and his sole intention was to secure a private meeting with Trump, officers said.
The slow-motion drama started around 3:30 p.m., as he ascended using suction cups that he apparently purchased for around a $100 each.
It turned into a game of cat and mouse but after three hours, police finally pulled him into a window they broke on the 21st floor.
Officer Christopher Williams, who grabbed Ryan, told reporters: “I reached out. I took hold of his hand and I said, 'Sir, would you come with me.'”
NYPD Assistant Chief William Aubrey added: “At no time did he express that he wanted to hurt anybody.”
Ina statement to the Associated Press, Michael Cohen, an executive at the Trump Organization, said: “This man performed a ridiculous and dangerous stunt. I'm 100 percent certain the NYPD had better things to do."

He was removed from the building on a stretcher and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a mental evaluation.
The 58-story Trump Tower is home to some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Trump used the building to film his hit series, The Apprentice. In 2015, Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo purchased the penthouse for $18.5 million.
