More Than 125 Animals Flown Across U.S. After Being Saved From Floods
Donors on Facebook aided in their journey to the Pacific Northwest, raising $15,000 in just one day to fund the flight.
An animal rescue group has gone above and beyond to give animals stranded in the Louisiana floods a second chance, flying the pets across the country in an effort to find them their forever homes.
Wings of Rescue lent their services to ensure dogs and cats left in the storm-ravaged southern state would be brought to Oregon, where Friends of Shelter Animals will work to find permanent homes for the rescues.

“I’m just extremely happy they got here safe and sound,” Cathy Nechak told KGW-TV. “We’re going get them home and all to bed and get them dinner and start their new life.”

More than 125 pets were taken from the flooded areas, KGW-TV reported. Many were already in shelters when the floods hit.
As many as 31 rescued cats are reportedly expected to be ready for adoption this weekend, the television station reported. The others will be taken to other shelters.
