Man Whose Retweet Called Clinton 'C***' May Be Among Trump Cabinet 'Finalists'
Sid Miller might become Trump's Secretary of Agriculture.
A Texas official who recently made headlines for sharing a tweet that called Hillary Clinton a "c***" might be tapped for the Trump Cabinet.
The state's agriculture commissioner, Sid Miller, is up for the Secretary of Agriculture position under the president-elect, according to multiple reports.
Miller is the same man who initially claimed to have been hacked before blaming a low-level staffer on the tweet that hailed a one-point lead given to Trump in a November poll in Pennsylvania. The post listed Trump above Democratic rival, "C***," followed by the words: "Go Trump Go!"
About 10 minutes later, the tweet was deleted. "@MillerForTexas has been HACKED. The disgusting re-tweet has been removed and we have changed all account passwords. Be advised," the initial response read.
However, Miller soon changed his tune. "We weren't hacked," Miller soon told MySanAntonio.
"You can tell by reading it it's not something I sent out. I hadn't read it," he said. Miller later announced that the responsible party had been fired and wrote a letter apologizing to colleagues.
"I have the utmost respect for my fellow man, men and women alike. I do not, nor have I ever engaged in this type of undignified behavior. I am embarrassed and saddened that it happened," the letter said. "As a God fearing Christian, a man of faith, and a proud Texas gentleman I would never do anything to dishonor our great state or the Texas Department of Agriculture."
Sid Miller is not the only potential — or finalized — Trump appointment that has raised eyebrows.
Donald Trump’s appointment of Stephen Bannon as chief strategist — a position that, unlike Cabinet members, does not need Senate approval — has drawn outrage with civil rights groups, Democratic leaders, and some Republicans.
Bannon once headed up Breitbart, an already right-wing news organization he's widely considered to have remade into an outlet for the so-called "alt-right," and whose articles have often been derided as anti-Semitic, misogynistic, racist and homophobic.
Very organized process taking place as I decide on Cabinet and many other positions. I am the only one who knows who the finalists are!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 16, 2016
As names like Bannon's cause widespread outrage, Donald Trump's transition team is reportedly in the middle of a major shakeup as the inauguration looms.
In what reports have called a "Stalinesque purge," Chris Christie was recently demoted as those closest to the New Jersey governor were removed from the transition team.
In response to those reports, has said that everything is A-okay and that the winners will be announced soon.
