In 2006, Trump stepped up to the mic at a press conference to give her another chance after she admitted she had a problem with alcohol and drugs.

She told Inside Edition: "Had he not said, 'Tara, you should go to rehab,' I don't know what would have happened. In essence, he was the platform that got me there."

She has been sober for 10 years and recently penned an editorial in USA Today with the headline, "Donald Trump Made Me Great Again."

"I will always be profoundly grateful. He saved my life," she wrote.

She told Inside Edition: "I don’t think he realized the step he was taking for the recovery movement."

Conner says she’s interested in joining the Trump administration in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse. She says it’s a bi-partisan issue and revealed she actually didn't vote for Trump.

"I don't know if I’m asking him for a job specifically, I’m basically just saying I have a lot of information and I have been in this field for 10 years. Please let me help you if you need it,” she told Inside Edition.

Connor told Inside Edition that she was as surprised as anyone when the election results were revealed.
