Mom of Baby Abandoned in Yard Was on Drugs and Paranoid: Cops
She will be charged, police said.
The Washington State mom of a 3-month-old baby found abandoned in a yard allegedly told police she was on drugs when she left the child, authorities said.
A stranger found the baby boy crying in the grass early Monday and initially thought the sound was an animal.
Lakewood Police said they located the boy’s mom Monday afternoon and told them she left the baby on Sunday after she’d taken drugs and thought she was being chased.
The boy's father came to the hospital, but said he’d not seen his wife or the baby since Sunday night after the couple had gotten into an argument.
The baby was thankfully not injured.
Police said the mom will be criminally charged, but have not released her identity.
