INSIDE EDITION talks to a former publicist of Kim Kardashian who says everything is her career is premeditated, including her phony engagement to Reggie Bush last year.
Before Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries, she reportedly tried to recruit another NBA star to play her love interest on her hit cable TV show.
Published reports say a producer held negotiations last year to cast Danilo Gallinari, who was then playing for the New York Knicks, in the role. She wanted to date a hunky New York sports figure during her series Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
The New York Post reports that the Italian-born Gallinari was told it would "be great for his career, he turned the offer down."
The report is lending weight to speculation that Kim's marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries was just a sham.
Jonathan Jaxson was once in Kim's inner circle, working for her as her publicist.
INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent asked Jaxson, "What have you heard about this sort of premeditated plan to sort of hook her up with a professional ball player?"
"Well, I will say that it's all premeditated in one's career and Kim's career has been premeditated from the very beginning," said Jaxson.
He claims he even staged a phony engagement between Kim and football star Reggie Bush in 2009.
"We staged so many things and it's not uncommon for us. You know, when I was working with Kim, we staged her engagement that was alleged to Reggie Bush. Having her come out of a ring store and she has a jewelry bag and we made up this story that it was actually a ring that Reggie got her," said Jaxson.
The furor over her 72-day marriage is rekindling interest in a little known secret from Kim's past—her first marriage to a Los Angeles-based record producer, Damon Thomas.
Kim was only 19 and far from famous. She even changed her name to Kimberly Thomas.
In divorce documents obtained by INSIDE EDITION, Kim claimed she was a victim of domestic violence, saying her husband: "Punched me in the face... Grabbed my arm... And threatened to kill me."
"Damon first hit me a few months after we were married," said Kim.
She signed her full name, Kimberly Kardashian Thomas.
Thomas denied the allegations of abuse.
That marriage lasted four years—a lot longer than her disastrous second marriage.
