Mariah Carey Asks for Prayers as Nick Cannon Faces Kidney Failure
Mariah Carey tweeted her fans asking for their prayers for her husband Nick Cannon who is in the hospital with kidney failure. INSIDE EDITION has the latest on the breaking story.
A shocking medical emergency for Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon.
Mariah just posted a photo after her husband was rushed to the hospital, and tweeted: "Please pray for Nick."
In the photo Mariah Carey wore pajama pants, and was laying next to Cannon in his hospital bed in the swanky resort town of Aspen, Colorado, where Carey says he is being treated for kidney failure. He was wearing a stocking cap and was sipping a drink through a straw. An IV tube was taped to his left arm.
Just a few days ago, Cannon and Carey dressed in matching white outfits on New Year's Eve with their eight-month old twins.
Cannon, host of NBC's America's Got Talent, appeared with Carey on the show this past September.
She calls his health situation "very painful" writing: "He's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman. This is us in the hospital -- role reversal. Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are...They tried to kick me out of the hospital. We're doing ok but we're straaaaaanded in Aspen."
No word yet on the cause of Cannon's kidney failure. But one report says he may have been dehydrated.
INSIDE EDITION spoke to kidney expert Dr. Joshua Schwimmer.
"When people have mild kidney failure it means that the kidney function has decreased. And one of the things about mild kidney failure that can be dangerous is that you don't know if you have kidney problems," said Dr. Schwimmer.
