Kathie Lee Gifford's Gaffe with Martin Short
Kathie Lee Gifford made a gaffe on the Today show when she commented to Martin Short about his happy marriage, forgetting that his wife passed away two years ago. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
It was an embarrassing moment on the Today show as Kathie Lee Gifford talked to Martin Short about his marriage.
"You and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages in show business. And you're still in love," said Gifford.
Gifford seemed to have forgotten that Martin Short's wife Nancy is dead. She died two years ago after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Rather that embarrass Gifford, Martin Short played along until co-host Hoda Kotb changed the subject.
Later, after realizing her mistake, Gifford expressed remorse with this tweet: "I send my sincerest apologies to Martin Short and his family. He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I'm so grateful."
