TV Legend Merv Griffin's Mansion Goes On The Market

INSIDE EDITION got an exclusive tour of TV legend Merv Griffin's magnificent estate set on 39 acres of lush gardens.

It's the lavish estate of legendary entertainer Merv Griffin, and it's some place.

INSIDE EDITION got an exclusive tour of Griffin's mansion, set on 39 acres of lush gardens in super exclusive La Quinta, California, just outside Palm Springs.

Griffin, who created Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, personally supervised construction of the 5,000-square-foot estate in 1986.

Realtor Todd Monaghan told INSIDE EDITION, "It was a Moroccan theme. It was very special to him."

The 1,200-square-foot living room is bigger than most apartments, and big enough to fit four palm trees inside. The palms reach up to a retractable dome skylight that opens up to the blue desert sky.

The master suite is decorated in white, with marble floors and stained glass windows. Even his hair brushes are still where he left them when he died in 2007.

Griffin's office is also frozen in time, with pictures of his best friends Ronald and Nancy Reagan. There's also a photo of Griffin with Johnny Carson.

The estate has its own horse stables accented with blue tiles. And there's even a private racetrack.

Griffin's desert hideway is now for sale. How much will it cost? $9.5 million dollars. Not a bad deal if you want to live large like he did.
