Kristen Stewart Apologizes For Affair With Married Director

Twilight star Kristen Stewart says she's sorry for cheating on boyfriend Robert Pattinson with a married father of two children. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Kristen Stewart apologized for cheating on her boyfriend, hunky twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, with a married man!

Stewart snuggled up to filmmaker Rupert Sanders in a photo appearing in the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Friday. Sanders directed Stewart's latest movie, Snow White and the Huntsman—and he is nearly twice her age. Kristen is 22, Sanders is 41.

In an emotionally charged statement, extraordinary in its openess, Stewart said:

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Sanders is also apologizing today, saying:

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

The photo of Stewart and the married father of two was taken just last week at a well-known make-out location with a view of the Hollywood sign. Stewart is still living with Pattinson and is said to be devastated.

Sanders is married to British model Liberty Ross, who plays Stewart's mother in Snow White. The couple has two young kids. On her Twitter account, Sander's wife was asked about the photos in Us Weekly. She sent this one word response, "Wow." before deleting her Twitter account completely.

Making the alleged affair all the more shocking, Robert Pattinson had recently hinted in a magazine that he planned to marry Stewart.

Us Weekly's Ian Drew told INSIDE EDITION, "The future is very uncertain right now. Obviously no one knew these photos were going to come out. This was something that she had obviously tried to keep very private. They [Pattinson and Stewart] were together as of last week, seemingly very happy, and now, it's all going to be thrown asunder."
