Taylor Swift Denies That She Crashed Kennedy Wedding
Taylor Swift is denying reports that she and her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy crashed his first cousin's wedding after the mother of the bride asked them not to come. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Is Taylor Swift a wedding crasher?
That's the bombshell report coming out of The Boston Herald on Wednesday, which said Swift refused to leave a Kennedy wedding after being asked twice by the mother of the bride.
The bride was Kyle Kennedy, first cousin of Swift's new boyfriend, Conor Kennedy. Her wedding to Liam Kerr took place last Saturday at the posh Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in downtown Boston.
Kyle's mother, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, went on the record and told The Herald she did not want Swift's star power overshadowing her daughter's big day.
Victoria told The Herald that an hour before the wedding, Conor and Swift texted her and asked if they could come.
"I responded with a very clear, 'Please do not come.' They came anyway. I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me," said Victoria.
Gayle Fee of The Boston Herald told INSIDE EDITION, "Taylor Swift arrived at the hotel, she went right into the lobby and she was immediatley surrounded by fans. They were asking for autographs, taking pictures, and frankly, the whole thing was distracting to what was going on inside the reception."
Etiquette experts said crashing a wedding is the height of poor taste.
Anja Winikka from TheKnot.com told INSIDE EDITION, "It is a huge faux pas to attend a wedding that you are not invited to. One of the biggest problems with that is that you are upstaging the bride and you are making it really stressful for her and her family, so just don't do it."
Swift's spokesperson is denying the story and said, "Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there."
The 22-year-old singer's obsession with the Kennedy family is by now well-documented. She just bought a $5 million estate across the street from the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port. She's been dating Conor all summer.
Fee said, "It seems like Taylor Swift has developed a Kennedy obsession this summer. She is everywhere with Conor, she is with the family every weekend, and you can only think that inevitably, when they do break up, she is going to get a lot of songs out of this."
