Raquel Welch Warns About Plastic Surgery

Hollywood legend Raquel Welch is warning young Hollywood about the plastic surgery frenzy and says to think twice before going under the knife. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Movie legend Raquel Welch is speaking out against the cosmetic surgery frenzy young Hollywood is embracing. Like 23-year-old reality star Heidi Montag, who looks like a completely different person after undergoing 10 procedures in one day.

"It's totally unnecessary, and it's so gratuitous," said Welch.

INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret asked Welch, "How do you feel today about young stars having plastic surgery?"

"I think that this kind of an attitude towards cosmetic surgery leads to this kind of feeling of self-loathing. Because we can all find these things that we don't like about ourselves," said Welch.

Raquel's all-natural figure shot her to superstardom before breast implants became the norm in Hollywood. And Raquel's not the only one with a warning.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Lyle Back is going public with his concern about what Heidi has done to her body. He says it will cause her serious health problems in the future.

"I'm afraid that Heidi very well might face some health concerns. As time goes on, the large size of those implants is going to tend to make the breasts droop," said Back.

Heidi's husband Spencer Pratt fired back on his Twitter page, accusing the doctor of "speaking on some [expletive deleted] you don't know about."

But maybe the tide is turning in Hollywood. The casting director for the upcoming Pirates of the Carribbean sequel has said actresses "must have real breasts" to try out as extras.

And Sharon Osborne has announced she plans to have her DD implants removed.

The New York Post is calling it the boob bust and saying "fake breasts are now totally passe."

It praises such natural beauties as Avatar's Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Kristen Bell, and Anna Paquin.

As for Raquel, it's hard to believe she's 69 years old. In her new book, Raquel, Beyond the Cleavage, she spells out exactly how she's maintained the stunning figure that launched her to stardom.

"I see nothing wrong as you grow older, and I mean legitimately older. I'm talking about past 50 or something, doing some kind of maintenance within reason, that's minimal, that doesn't make you look different than you really are," said Welch.
