Charles Barkley Defends His Gun To Bob Costas

On the heels of Bob Costas’ remarks calling for stricter gun control, NBA legend Charles Barkley admits that he’s carried a gun in his car for years. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Basketball legend Charles Barkley is admitting he carries a gun wherever he goes. He was talking to  sports broadcaster Bob Costas about the tragic murder suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher. The show airs Thursday night on the cable network NBC Sports.

Barkley said, "I've carried a gun in my car every year of my life since I was 21, 22. Never had to use it."

"Are you packing right now?" asked Costas.

"No, I'm not," replied Barkley. "I feel a sense of peace when I have it with me. But it would take extreme circumstances for me to even touch it."

Costas came under fire after calling for stricter gun control laws during Sunday Night Football's haltime show. He continued his campaign on last night's O'Reilly Factor.

"Since I made those comments, I have hard from players past and present from coaches and executives in the NFL saying that they are alarmed and concerned by the number of players who believe that they have to have a gun," said Costas.
