Friend of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Speaks Out

A young woman dissolved into tears as she came to the defense of the most hated guy in America—accused Boston Marathon terrorist Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

23-year-old Britney Smith told Newsday.com that she's been close to Dzhokhar since 2004.

She said, “I believe Dzhokhar is a good person. He really is. There is not one person that can say aything bad about him. All these people they've talked to, he's not a bad person at all.  At all.”

A photo showed her with Dzhokhar's sister and mother. Smith said she was considered part of the family and even stayed at their Boston home for a month in 2008.

"Their mother considered me to be part of the family, she called me her 'third daughter,'" said Smith.

On Friday, as America held its breath during the dramatic manhunt, Smith said three FBI agents showed up at her home in Long Island, New York thinking Dzhokhar might try to go there.

They asked to see all the Facebook messages she'd received from him.

Smith said, "The FBI said, 'So you were really close, huh?' I said, 'Yeah, I loved their whole family. I used to joke around I was gonna get married to him." 

Smith says she wasn't close with Dzhokhar's older brother Tamerlan, who was killed in the shootout with cops.

She seems to be in denial over the overwhelming evidence of Dzhokhar’s involvement in the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.  
 
She said, “I believe Dzhokhar is innocent. I don't believe he did this. He's such a good person.  He really was.”

Lots of luck convincing the rest of America of that one.
