Lawrence Taylor's Ex-Wife Tells INSIDE EDITION She Doesn't Think He's Guilty

Lawrence Taylor's ex-wife, Maritza Taylor, says she doesn't think the NFL great is capable of raping a 16-year-old girl. She speaks out to INSIDE EDITION.
The ex-wife of Lawrence Taylor says she doesn't believe he's capable raping a 16-year-old girl.
"The age factor, I don't think he would do such a thing. I really don't," she says.
Despite a tempestuous five-year marriage which ended in divorce, Maritza Cruz Taylor is speaking out in support of the former Dancing with the Stars contestant.
Maritza is now a singer with a band called Cache based in Miami. She met Lawrence Taylor in 1999 when he was shooting Oliver Stone's movie Any Given Sunday. She was an extra.
"The Taylor I met was kind, was gentle, was a good person," she tells INSIDE EDITION.
They were married in 2000 but she says she soon suspected he was unfaithful.
According to Maritza, women would throw themselves at Taylor.
She says she was stunned when she saw him on TV in court, handcuffed and shackled and charged with rape.
"I was in shock, I couldn't believe what I was hearing," says Maritza.
