Angelina Jolie Shared Special Bond With Aunt
The loss of Angelina Jolie's aunt Debbie is a story of yet another close bond taken away from cancer that's riddled the star's family. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Angelina Jolie and her Aunt Debbie shared a bond born out of tragedy. They were friends, but above all they were comrades in a desparate, multi-generational battle against a family curse that claimed so many of their loved ones.
Ron Martin was Debbie's husband and he was at her bedside Sunday when she lost her battle with breast cancer.
"My wife was way too young to die," Martin said.
All through her nine year ordeal with the deadly disease, Angelina was a source of love and support.
"Angelina and Debbie, since Angelina's mother died, had a lot of communication with text and by phone," Martin stated.
Angelina's mom, Marcheline, was Debbie's big sister and they were inseparable. The sisters had babies at the same time. And when Debbie learned that Angelina had a double mastectomy, she was relieved because it meant that Angelina was being proactive in fighting the disease.
We've learned that Angelina is ready to return to public life. She is planning her first red carpet appearance since her double mastectomy on Sunday at the London premiere of Brad Pitt's new movie World War Z. It's a moment Martin says Debbie would have been thrilled to see.
