Shellie Zimmerman says she has doubts about what George Zimmerman is capable of, since her recent altercation with him. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
It's a bombshell from Shellie Zimmerman, estranged wife of George Zimmerman.
She made the stunning comments in an interview with the Today show's Matt Lauer.
Lauer asked, "Do you still believe the story we've all heard from him?"
"I'm conflicted on that. I believe the evidence, but this revelation in my life has really helped me take the blinders off and start to see things differently," said Shellie.
Lauer asked, "Let me understand—so you now doubt his innocence, at least on the night Trayvon Martin was killed, that he acted in self defense?"
Shellie replied, "I think anyone would doubt that innocence, because I don't know the person that I've been married to. I have doubts."
But even though she now questions parts of her husband's story, she continues to believe he did not racially profile Trayvon Martin.
Lauer then asked, "Can you look me in the eye and tell me that you don't believe your husband did not profile Trayvon Martin?"
"Yes, he did not profile Trayvon Martin," she confirmed.
Shellie had a bitter confrontation two weeks ago with Zimmerman when, she said he threatened her with a gun and punched her dad in the nose.
On that 911 call, Shellie told the operator: "I don't know what he's capable of. I'm really, really scared."
Dramatic police dashcam video showed Zimmerman with his hands in the air as cops arrived.
Shellie and her father did not press charges. Shellie later admitted she never saw a gun during the dispute.
"I kind of realize now that I don't know him, and I really don't know what he's capable of. I saw a look in his eyes that I've never seen before that day," explained Shellie.
