Woman Claims She Was Hassled Over Google Glass

INSIDE EDITION spoke to Sarah Slocum who says she was hassled in a bar for wearing Google Glass.
An angry confrontation was caught on video after a woman wearing the funny-looking glasses says she was hassled by customers in a bar. One person even threw a rag at her.
It happened at Molotov’s bar in the famed Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. Sarah Slocum said she was verbally assaulted by patrons there, not for anything she did or said, but for what she was wearing—Google Glass.
Google Glass is the $1,500 portable computer that also lets you record everything you see.
Now, some are wondering if what happened to Slocum is part of "An Anti-Tech Backlash in San Francisco (Source: USA Today)" against giant tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple.
There have been angry demonstrations against the private fleet of commuter buses used by tech employees. Headlines from Time magazine calls San Francisco "Resentment City" and Associated Press say a "widening income gap in Silicon Valley sparks anger, protests."
Sarah Slocum may have encountered that resentment when she walked into the bar at 1:30 a.m. She got so upset at the reaction to her Google Glasses she cursed and flipped off the bar patrons.
INSIDE EDITION’s Jim Moret asked, “Why didn't you just take the glasses off and say, 'No problem?'”
She said, “I was upset and I wanted to get them on video. I hoped if I recorded them on video they would stop it.”
After the incident, Molotovs put up a makeshift sign saying 'No recording.' Other bars in the city are now following suit, specifically banning Google Glass.
Slocum says one confrontation won't stop her from seeing the world through Google Glass.
Moret asked, “If I were to take those away from you would you miss them?
She said, “Yes, very much.”
