'Sorry I Am Not More Pleasing To The Eye' - Teen Fights Back Against Cyber Bullies

A teen posted a photo on her Facebook page hoping to sell her size 26 prom dress.

Within minutes, she was the target of online bullies who called her "fat" and "ugly." One particularly rude comment actually asked, "Does it fit in a durango?"

INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander caught up with 18-year-old Kristen Layne.

Alexander said to Layne, "Words do hurt."

Layne agreed, saying, "Yes. They hurt worse than getting punched or something because that's always in the back of your mind and bruises and stuff, they go away."

But Layne had an anwer for all the ridicule, posting, "God did not put me on this earth to please you. Sorry I am not more pleasing to your eye."

Then an amazing thing happened. Her Facebook page filled with messages of support. One woman wrote, "You look absolutely gorgeous." Another posted, "You are beautiful inside and out."

A friend started a GoFundMe page for Kristen and it has raised over $3,000. Ten times what she was asking for the dress.

Alexander asked, "Quite a few people chimed in, sticking up for you. How did that make you feel?"

Layne responded, "It made me feel great. Awesome. Amazing. It made me feel beautiful. "

Layne, who lives near Nashville, is selling the junior prom dress so she could buy another for her senior prom. INSIDE EDITION was there as she went shopping at Faviana in New York City,  looking  through racks of dresses until finally finding one she loved.

She hopes her story is a lesson for everyone.

Alexander asked, "What advice do you have for anyone out there who has ever been bullied?"

Layne answered, "Don't play into what people say about you because you're beautiful or your handsome and there's always light at the end of the tunnel so, always go for that light."
