President Obama and First Lady Reportedly Took Separate Planes To Los Angeles On Same Day
They went to the same city on the same day, on separate planes.
So, why is it causing a stir? According to The Washington Times, both flights are on the taxpayer's dime, with the president flying on Air Force One at an estimated cost of $228,000 per hour of flight time, while Michelle Obama took a different plane.
White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz told reporters the president and first lady's schedules "were not in sync in order to travel together." He added, "I'm not even sure they overlapped."
President Obama flew from Los Angeles on Friday morning to Phoenix to visit a veteran's hospital. The first lady did not travel to Phoenix.
